Baptism

3 Nephi 11:25, 32-34, 37-38

Moroni 6:2-3 "Neither did they receive any unto baptism save they came forth with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, and witnessed unto the church that they truly repented of their sins. And none were received unto baptism save they took upon them the name of Christ, having a determination to serve him to the end. And after they had been received unto baptism, and were wrought upon and cleansed by the power of the Holy Ghost, they were numbered among the people of the church of Christ; and their names were taken, that they might be remembered and nourished by the good word of God, to keep them in the right way, to keep them continually watchful unto prayers, relying alone upon the merits of Christ, who was the author and the finisher of their faith"

Moroni 8- infant baptism "is an evil abomination"… "little children are whole, for they are not capable of committing sin"

5. 12-13 "For how many little child have died without baptism! Wherefore, if little children could not be saved without baptism, these must have gone to an endless hell".

• 15 "For awful is the wickedness to suppose that God saveth one child because of baptism, and the other must perish because he hath no baptism"
• A baby that goes to hell without baptism teaches that God is cruel and heartless. "What does this doctrine teach about God?" Babies cannot go to hell!
• 19 "Little children cannot repent; wherefore, it is awful wickedness to deny the pure mercies of God unto them"

Mormon 8:16 "And blessed be he that shall bring this thing to light; for it shall be brought out of darkness unto light, according to the word of God; yea, it shall be brought out of the earth, and it shall shine forth out of darkness, and come unto the knowledge of the people; and it shall be done by the power of God"

How Ether came to be:

• Moroni's abridgment of Mosiah's translation of the 24 plates found by Limhi's people
• Tower of Babel < traveled on sea < rest < sea < promised land
• Land of nephi > to Zarahemla (King Mosiah reads record and it says Coriantumr shows up and is there 9 days and then dies >

Ether 5:3-4 "And in the mouth of three witnesses shall these things be established; and the testimony of three, and this work, in the which shall be shown forth the power of God and also his word, of which the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost bear record- and all this shall stand as a testimony against the world at the last day"

The trumpet on the temples is a call to all the nations. Moroni is the symbol of the beginning and the end. He was around 421 AD and then returned again to Joseph Smith in 1823.

Moroni 10:3 "remember how merciful the Lord hath been… and ponder it in your hearts"
